Meet the Candidates Questions

1. How are you at managing your own finances?
2. What, in your opinion, is the proper role of government? How would you live the proper role of government as a mayor or city council member?
3. Would you be willing to cut spending and how would you do it? What is wasteful spending?
4. Would you be willing to save money toward a purchase before you buy something?
5. What responsibility, if any, does a city have to provide a recreation center or something similar?
6. How do you think city employees’ salaries should be determined?
7. When would it be necessary to change an ordinance voted by the citizens of your city?
8. What in your viewpoint was the vision of the founding fathers?
9. Why do you love America and what can you do to preserve the freedoms we enjoy here?
10. Would you be willing to dramatically lower taxes?

To Cedar Hills candidates specifically:

About the recreation center:
• What is your stance on building a recreation center?
• What responsibility will Cedar Hills citizens have to maintain it?
• A recreation center will compete against private enterprise, why should a city government own and run one?
• Would you be in favor of working with a private business instead of the city owning a rec. center?
• Would you want to work with other cities?

About the Golf Course

(From me) I am a big Dave Ramsey fan and believe in his philosophy. Would you be willing to put the city on rice and beans and beans and rice (in other words cut spending dramatically) and aggressively pay off the golf course bond?

City council salaries

Would you be willing to cut city council salaries that were raised last year?
